What It Means to Be the Illinois Cherry Blossom Delegate
The Illinois Cherry Blossom Delegate serves as an ambassador for the National Cherry Blossom Festival© to represent Illinois. This role involves participating in community events, promoting cultural awareness, and representing Illinois at various public appearances.
Being a delegate is a chance to:

Are You Our Next Delegate?
The cherry blossom delegate application is open to young women who are aged 21 to 26 at the time of the program and embody the spirit and excellence of Illinois.
Key Qualifications:
Illinois Connection: Born, lived, or attended school in Illinois (min. 4 years), or have parents from the state.
Eligibility: Must be a high school graduate, single, never been married, have no children, and available for a full week of programming in D.C.
Integrity and Character: As a representative of our state, candidates must have a clean legal record with no pending charges and maintain a lifestyle free of illegal substances or alcohol abuse. We seek delegates who uphold the highest standards of conduct.
Healthy & Energetic: Must be in good health and fitness to be able to fully engage in a high-energy, fast-paced week of events.
Full Participation: You must be able to attend the entire week of Cherry Blossom programming and activities (April 4–12). Please note that missing more than two days will disqualify a Delegate from the "Spinning of the Wheel" for the U.S. Cherry Blossom Queen title.
Applicants do not need prior experience in pageants or public speaking, but a positive attitude and enthusiasm about Illinois are essential.
