About the Event
What does it mean to be “Midwest nice” in a city like Washington, D.C.?
Join the Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Illinois State Societies for a lively, relatable, and genuinely fun evening exploring the quirks, humor, and shared identity of Midwesterners navigating life in the nation’s capital. We will gather at Saint Peter's Church on Capitol Hill (because what says Midwest like a church basement?).
Featuring etiquette coach and writer Alison Cheperdak, this conversation dives into the subtle art of people-pleasing, polite deflection, and the cultural instincts we carry with us—from apologizing too much to avoiding conflict at all costs. Expect sharp insights, plenty of laughs, and a room full of people who get it.
Please visit the Minnesota State Society website to register.
