About the Event
Please join the Illinois State Society for a Memorial Day Commemoration at John Logan Tomb at the U.S. Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery. In addition to presenting flowers, an ILSS representative will read the General Order issued in 1868 by the Commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, the key organization of Union Civil War veterans, establishing Memorial Day.
